InfraLynx
InfraLynx is an rapid prototype system consisting of a highly mobile communications node to support on-scene decision makers in defense, homeland security, and emergency response scenarios. It incorporates existing communications technologies, such as a tactical cell phone base station and high bandwidth secure satellite transceivers, to provide critical secure, high bandwidth voice and data communications channels. All of the high bandwidth, secure communications equipment, including a large dish antenna, are mounted on a commercial Hummer vehicle, which is lightweight and easily air transportable. InfraLynx was designed as a direct response to the September 11 terrorist attacks.
