Clementine's Mission

Mission Objectives

Mission Description

BATCAVE (Mission Control)

Mission Objectives

The Clementine mission demonstrated and validated BMDO's lightweight technologies with a spaceflight mission. It evaluated long-term space environmental effects on advanced components; and tested detection and acquisition capabilities at realistic closing velocities using celestial bodies as targets. Another key objective was to use BMDO technologies for scientific purposes. The mission also demonstrated the benefits of a streamlined management approach to meet cost and schedule constraints.
